1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains how to request refunds and returns for purchases made through Oman Desert Safari Tours, including tour bookings (where offered), physical merchandise, and digital items. Your statutory rights are not affected.
2. Tour bookings and cancellations
If we offer or facilitate tour bookings, the following applies unless a partner/operator provides different terms at checkout (in which case partner terms prevail):
- Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking if the start date is more than 14 days away.
- 50% refund for cancellations 7–14 days before the start date.
- No refund for cancellations within 7 days of the start date or for no‑shows.
- Date changes are subject to availability and may incur a rebooking fee.
- Force majeure (e.g., severe weather, government action): we will offer a free date change or credit; where not feasible, a partial or full refund may be issued at our discretion or under operator policy.
3. Physical merchandise returns
- Return window: 30 days from delivery in original condition and packaging.
- Non‑returnable items: perishable goods, personalized items, and items marked final sale.
- Return shipping: customer pays return postage unless the item is defective or we shipped the wrong item.
- Inspection: refunds are processed after receipt and inspection; we’ll notify you of approval or rejection.
- Exchanges: subject to stock; otherwise we will refund.
4. Digital items
For instantly delivered digital content (e.g., downloadable guides), refunds are generally not available once the download link is issued, except where required by law or if the file is defective and cannot be replaced. If you experience access issues, contact us for support.
5. How to request a refund or return
- Email hello@omandeserttrails.com with your order number, item(s), reason, and photos if applicable.
- For tour changes/cancellations, include traveler names, booking date, and scheduled start date.
- We will reply within 2 business days with next steps and, if applicable, a return authorization and address.
6. Refund method and timing
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.
- Once approved, we initiate refunds within 5–10 business days; your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the funds.
- If a refund seems delayed after our confirmation, contact your bank/card issuer first, then contact us.
7. Fees and deductions
Where applicable, we may deduct non‑recoverable third‑party fees (e.g., payment processing fees) if a refund is requested outside statutory cooling‑off periods or in cases where costs have already been incurred (e.g., provisioning for remote tours), unless prohibited by law.
8. Damaged, defective, or incorrect items
Please inspect orders upon receipt and contact us immediately if an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect so we can evaluate and make it right via replacement, exchange, or refund.
9. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback, we may suspend fulfillment while we provide documentation to the payment provider. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve issues quickly.
